The company , originally guided by Pietro Riccomi , starts the production of cut flowers ( carnations ) in 1952: in this period it was recognized as one of the most competitive firms in the floriculture. In 1969 his daughter Laura and the son-in-law , will take care of the whole business of the company: since then its name will be "FLORICOLTURA CHECCHI BENEDETTO".

With this change of management of the company, also the production will reach a turning point:from carnations to chrysantemus obtaining many prizes and recognitions in this sector. After experimenting a production of Lilium, they decide, in 1979, to manage completely this kind of activity becoming one of the first companies to launch Lilium on the market of Pescia. They will partecipate with great succes in exhibitionsbut but above all in the distribution and selling of their products.

The company has a dimension of 40.000 square metres and produces 1.100.000 Lilium stems every yers. The four selections in the Lilium working ( extra, first,second and third rate ) the great experience gained during 22 years and the continuous intruduction of new varieties, have permitted the company to be always up-to-date and in costant growing.

In 2007 we have started production of calle and olive tree.

They are one of the most appreciated firm of Pescia. The company personnel is made of the family members: Benedetto Checchi, Laura Riccomi, Serena Checchi, Claudia Checchi, Massimiliano Santoni; they share the administration and selling but above all the selection of lilium during the entire working period. Beside them also expert and skilled workers are part of this company.
